Oh clouds...you mock me daily. When I found out that the day 3 assignment was clouds I was underwhelmed. All summer we have had lots of clouds, but zero rain. We have broken a drought record here in San Antonio. The last drought record was set in 1917...we have broken this record by leaps and bounds this year. Today we have lots of storm clouds and even a chance of rain. Usually I get VERY excited about this. I watch the weather, I take cloud pictures, I sit outside, I anticipate...I get very excited...not anymore. The last 3 times we had chances of rain every county, every town, even most neighborhoods around us got some rain. Us, we had ZERO! We get the thunder, the lighting, the wind, , the beautiful dark clouds, and even the rain smell....but no rain. Oh, clouds, you mock me. You are the last thing I want to take pictures of today.
I really wanted to take picture of clouds reflected in a puddle, but no rain, no puddles. I brought a mirror outside to try to take photos of cloud reflections in the mirror. You know what else mirror reflect? Light! Lots and lots of light, so my original vision of a lovely cloud reflection with the grass and trees behind the mirror blended into a nice bokeh was not going to happen. I adjusted my settings to see what happened and here is what I got. Pretty cool, right?
Over a year ago, my husband left for deployment and with him went my mojo. Having to handle the 3 kids, school, house, 2 floods in the house, car trouble, lawn work, etc by myself has a way of burying ones mojo deep deep down underneath all of the 'must do's' and worries that have occupied my days and nights. He should be home sometime soon and I am starting to see bits of my mojo bubble up and make a small appearance here and there. Have you seen her?
In the last year I have put myself on the back burner: creativity, photography, exercise, running, guitar, my businesses, even my appearance and doctors appointments have all taken a back seat. I decided, that since I am seeing hints of my old self returning, that I would try a little 30 day challenge. I found this cute little 30 day challenge and it has been sitting in my Pinterest file for quite awhile. I decided today was a good day to start. Day 1 is self portrait so I decided to combine my two loves of photography and running to create mine.
Please feel free to join me. You can leave a link to your blog, flickr, FB to your picture. I'd love to see what you come up with! I'll be back tomorrow, still seeking my mojo.
Remember back when I got my Lola Bag from Epiphanie designed by my sweet friend Maile who saw a need in the market for a beautiful camera bag? Remember? I was so excited that I did not have to wrap my lenses in dish towels or diapers anymore when I wanted my camera and not use my ugly man camera bag? Well, it was time for me to get excited again!
I have been traveling more and now am starting to travel for photography clients (Yay!) so I needed a bag that could carry my camera gear and my MacBookPro. For the past year I have been carrying my laptop in an ugly laptop bag...then Maile came out with Paris.
I still love Lola for local shoot and just to carry around town, but Paris is great if I'm traveling!
Of course, Epiphanie packaging lets you know you are getting something special as soon as you open that box:
Peek a boo...Oh Paris, you are such a tease...
The one thing I love about these bags are the attention to every last detail. I love the same thing about Maile's photos and she is that way as a friend too...she pays attention to the little things
You can use the shorter braided strap or attach a longer padded strap that comes with the bag:
A little back pocket for things like business cards, lip gloss, cash, gum, etc...
Please excuse the quality of these next two photos. I had to take them with an iPhone because I had my cameras in the bag just to show you how much it can hold:
This is what I keep inside my Paris on a typical trip:
That's a lot of stuff!
Lola and Paris are getting along just fine!
I really never understood why women were so drawn to bags until now. Can't wait to see what Epiphanie has in store next so I can add to my collection!
