This Ken Follett book, "The Pillars of the Earth" kept calling to me "Stop working...come read me...find out what happens next...don't ya wanna know??????" YES YES YES...I will stop everything I'm doing and read you..but only for a few seconds, minutes, pages, hours, chapters.
It was such a busy week...I had 4 days straight of back to back sessions, I lots business-ey type clerical stuff to do, I had sessions to edit, birth announcements to design and order, and my own children's session to edit (which I will post soon)...but the book kept beckoning me and I kept running back to it.
It is incredibly written...I could actually feel the dust, heat , and cold. I could taste the beer and bread. It got my heart racing and my blood pressure up. I found myself cheering out loud, crying, and laughing at some characters, but also seething with hatred for others. Look, I loved it so much that it had it's own photo session and blog posting.
I am passing this book around to my friends and recommending it to anyone who listens. Now I find out there is a sequel that takes place 200 years later. So today, in between mailing packages to clients, changing diapers, driving kids to summer activities, and editing photos, I will be making a trip to the bookstore to buy "A World Without End".
I'll let you know if it's good enough for it's own photo session.
