Last week at a creativity workshop, Picture Summer, we were asked to take a photo portraying something we indulge in. Yes, I indulge in coffee, wine, sweet baked goods, yummy fried foods..but I wanted it to be something I do not ingest.
One of my biggest indulgences is putting on my iPod really loud and dancing and singing at the top of my lungs. This really cracks my husband up! When I am feeling super indulgent, I dance on top of my bed. I even go as far as to pretend it's a stage and I have an audience...my alter ego is a 12 year old girl who wants to be a rock star...
This got me thinking... I do not indulge very much or very often....definitely not enough. You parents out there understand...as a mother to 3, there is often not enough time or energy to indulge. I need to do it more so I decided that I can do it with everyday indulgences. I think I will go on a flea market/antique store hunt for indulgences I can use everyday: a beautiful coffee mug that is all mine, a pretty pitcher for my ice water, pretty aprons to wear in the kitchen...maybe I will even splurge for a beautiful old chair and lamp for the corner of my bedroom that I can use for reading. For 10 years I have been afraid to do something for me...but I am realizing it makes me a better wife, a better mother, a better friend. I think I'll start now.
I have lots to blog soon: two adorable 1 year olds, a precious newborn, and images form my Splash Session! I have 2 new promotions around the corner and a big project in self-expression coming up in September!!!!! I am very excited to share!
This picture is pure happiness.

One of my favourite photos of that day. After a few months of struggle and not much time to indulge myself, I'm going to make my own list of things to indulge in, just for ME. One of them will be more time blasting music and singing at the top of my lungs.
Take photos of your indulgences, won't you? Love to see 'em...
